Since its incorporation in 1977, privately held ad hoc America, Inc. has been successfully providing solutions for specific needs. Over time several divisions have emerged, within different fields of endeavor. Today these are generally referred to as "The ad hoc Companies". The chronology and divisions are:
- 1977 - ad hoc Services... provides management consulting and marketing services.
- 1977 - ad hoc Communications...specializes in copywriting and product development.
- 1985 - Cad-Tec Services...offers contract administrative and computer services.
- 1993 - ad hoc buyers circle...direct and mail order sale of unique consumer goods.
- 1994 - The Persultancy...personal consultants to the individual.
- 2002 - The DataDeed® ..an internet-based personal database/organizer.

Certain common threads have been woven throughout the divisions over the years. One is that of the "administrative consortium". This entails cooperative project assignments utilizing independent practitioners and differing disciplines. Under this approach, an ad hoc division may contract to provide a given set of services and in turn sub-contract with other known quality professional and administrative resources in order to fulfill the contractual commitment.
